This working paper examines a class of economic architectures in which coordination and value attribution are governed by formally constrained rules rather than discretionary governance or collective voting. While voting-based governance-particularly in decentralized digital systems-has become a common coordination mechanism, it exhibits structural limitations including participation asymmetry, governance capture, coercion, and long-term instability.
