Montgomery Bus Boycott

In one sense, it all started when Rosa Parks said, “No.” Tired from a long day at work and sitting in the first row reserved for Blacks toward the back of the bus, she refused to get up when a white man got onto the bus and needed a seat, as required by a city ordinance. At the next stop the bus driver reported her to police, and she was arrested.
